▪ 1994 – 2011 – United Nations and its affiliated agencies – worked in Holland (The Hague) and at UN Headquarters in NY in various capacities as International Civil Servant in professional as well as in general service categories. Retired Dec. 2011.
▪ 1988 – 1994 – Met Life Insurance – sales of insurance and insurance based products for Life, Health, Property and Casualty Insurance.
▪ 1982 - 1988 - Sabena Belgian World Airways, (Belgian Airlines) in Cargo and Operations areas. Looking after cargo – outgoing and ingoing flights, and flight operations.
▪ 1979-1981 – Representative for French Fashion Houses in India, working with exporters from India to Europe, North America.
▪ 1968-1978 – Office Manager with the State Trading Corporation of India, New Delhi, India, and in Paris, France (1974-1978)

In the late 1990s Gurmit moved to Westchester from Long Island to pursue the opportunities Westchester had to offer within the Real Estate industry. Before working with Keller Williams, he worked with the International Civil Service for 16 years, while his wife has been a New York City schoolteacher for over 27 years.
